My parents emphasized thrift and purchasing with purpose. My siblings and I enjoyed a childhood filled with endearing moments instead of materialistic excess. Years spent working in finance solidified what my parents taught me: less debt equals less stress.
As an adult, I have a greater appreciation of their efforts and the values they instilled. My daily grind led me to lose focus of simple pleasures: discovering destinations near or far, making memories with friends and family, writing for hire or for pleasure, eating satiating morsels, and luxuriating in literature.
It's time for me to put pushed aside plans into action, especially those that kick me out of my comfort zone.
I challenged myself to seek out more of what the world has to offer, find easy ways to save, and to savor not only healthier foods but the relationships I've built and new experiences. Throughout my journey I’ll share tidbits I hope you find useful. I welcome feedback and comments. Like myself, this blog is a work in progress.
